As the saying goes those, who do not learn from the past are doomed to repeat it. And in certain cases, this can certainly feel true. putting other unfortunate circumstances it can feel like it’s best if the past is not repeat itself. And in the case of the Quincy shootings, the latter instead of the former is true. It’s because the neighborhood associated with the area of Quincy Circle can see shootings occur with a not to high level of frequency. But, it happens more than enough times to make a community feel troubled to say the least. Just one of these incidences to make the news is on record of happening in the year 2013, which involved a robbery of a pizza delivery. Fortunately for the victim involved, there was no gunshot for him that day. However, he was robbed of certain items to include his money, wallet and the pizza he was delivering to the residential complex.
There is somewhat of a silver lining on this most dubious dark cloud and it is the fact that police have a suspect in custody regarding this crime. The man the police charge in leading this incident goes by a street handle of “Pgun” or “Pistol”. Perhaps, one of the most shocking details of this incident is that he had accomplices in his endeavors that day. However, there is a ray of light that can be seen in this story. This is the method in which the police apprehend the suspect. Technology and surveillance along with Community Corporation are what brings the perpetrator of this crime to justice and also display a renewed faith in community for those who witnessed the experience and live with the aftermath daily.
Unfortunately, other victims who find themselves involved with these types of violent crimes do not always fair as well as a delivery driver robbed who finds himself not too worse off for the journey. As a matter of fact, a young man has the experience of being shot in both legs in the same cereal general area as the 2013 incident. This is only two years after the fact and really says something for the quality of life in the area. Unfortunately in this case there are no true happy endings such as a suspect apprehended and charged with a crime. There is only a victim and three perpetrators who got away with yet another assault on their fellow human.
